  Educational Programs

This is a description of the currently available programs that we have developed for groups such as scouts, seniors, clubs, and other organizations. We also set up displays for local malls, stores, field days, festivals and other events. There is a training program for those interested in caring for wildlife.

Presentations for groups

This includes a 45 minute to 1 hour program using live wild birds. The talk includes...

  • How we become wildlife rehabilitators.
  • What to do if you find an injured or orphaned animal.
  •  How you can prevent injuries to wildlife.
  •  We bring out our wildlife teachers (i.e. the non-releasable birds) and discuss their injuries, why they cannot return to the wild, and some information about their species.
  • Information is handed out.
  • Displays are set up for close up examination.

Educational Displays for daily programs

This consists of the same information as above, while two to three volunteer handlers answer questions and pass out information.  This is geared for places that are unable to have live animals.
